Forest Gardens was Chevrel's "Home Project" in Turkey from 2009-2020...
At home in the verdant mountains of Yalova, Chevrel & Alan created their Forest Garden, a journey towards sustainability. Forest Gardens are based on the natural relationships of plant communities. As well as edible plants, there were trees for firewood & other uses, focusing on native Turkish plants. Permaculture is an essential element, as is seed production.
In addition to growing their own fruit and vegetables on their smallholding, they kept chickens, dogs & cats, and ran workshops and residential courses. Striving towards a Sustainable lifestyle, living the dream, producing Herbs for Health, focusing on building up a collection of herbs and medicinal plants plus growing vegetables and soft fruit. Sharing with the environment, paying guests and volunteers - all were welcome! The project came to an end just as the pandemic was starting, and Chevrel and Alan relocated to the Isle of Man.
